party. The Sober-Z Worm is expected to download a malicious code today, as it works
on a preplanned timer. Some sober variants were known to work in this fashion in the

The worm works with a pre-decided timer where the infected computer will download a
new payload, which will be spammed in very large numbers. The "SoBig" worm in the
year 2003 is an example from the past, where embedded dates were used. It regularly

30 variants and is sent with bilingual messages, German and English. The Sober worm
has employed a range of methods to reach the targets in the last few months. There
was even a mail that claims to be from the FBI, which was used successfully to
spread the infection.
